Bio
since March 202, Ms. Hanan Hanzaz is the Chief of the Arab Regional Coordination Division in UNIDO Headquarters in Vienna. Ms. Hanzaz has over 20 years of experience in sustainable development. She began her career in a private bank and in 2004 she joined the Morocco Cleaner Production Center (Morocco NCPC), part of the UNIDO-UNIDO global NCPCs program, where she held the position of General Manager from 2009 to 2013.
In 2014, she joined the Moroccan mining group MANAGEM as Director of the MANAGEM Foundation and subsequently the Director of Energy and Environmental Affairs of the Group.
In October 2015, she was appointed Vice-President of the Permanent Commission of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco (CGEM) « Energy, Climate and Green Economy" and member of the National Council of Enterprise (CNE) of the CGEM.
Ms. Hanzaz served as UNIDO Representative in the Kingdom of Morocco from March 2017 to February 2021, and strengthened UNIDO’s cooperation between Morocco, UNCT, and played a key role in promoting partnership with DFIs and private sector.
She has also participated in various international programs focusing on Women’s Leadership, particularly in the field of Environment such as « Climate Women Leaders » and ‘’MENA Leadership Program »
A process engineer by training, she is a laureate of the Mohammedia School of Engineers (EMI) of Rabat, Morocco. She is fluent in Arabic, English and French.
