Bio
Ms. Lyn Eid is a Human Rights Officer at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Treaty Body capacity building programme. She has 20 years of professional experience in human rights and sustainable development in the Middle East and North Africa region, including 12 years of experience within the United Nations System. Lyn is currently based in Beirut and she covers the MENA region.
Before joining OHCHR, Lyn worked as partnerships manager for Save the Children International, where she developed and managed the partnerships strategy of Lebanon country office during the Syrian crisis and the refugees’ influx into Lebanon. She also worked as head of monitoring and evaluation unit for the Lebanon recovery fund that was jointly led by the RCO and the Lebanese Government. Her portfolio included 25 projects addressing different topics ranging from socio-economic development, to social policy design and operationalization that were implemented by eight UN entities in close partnerships with the national institutions.

In the past, Lyn worked as Regional Programme Officer at the Arab Human Rights Fund, focusing on projects planning, design, analysis and coordination in 20 countries in the MENA region.
Lyn holds a Regional Masters’ Degree in Human Rights and Democracy in the MENA region from the University of Saint Joseph, Beirut. Her research focused on Minorities' Rights in Conflict and Post-Conflict Situations: Iraq and Syria as case studies. She has as well a “Maitrise” in Laboratory Sciences from the Lebanese University of Public Health (section II). Lyn is also a Certified Facilitator for Participatory Gender Audit (PGA) by ITCILO.
