Bio
Fadi is the Deputy Chief of United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Regional Office for Arab States. He joined UNDRR in 2013 as a regional programme officer supporting the Arab states in the implementation of the “Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA)” and later the “Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction”.

Before joining UNDRR, Fadi joined the United Nations Development Programme in Syria in 2003, where he started supporting the implementation of disaster risk reduction nationally and locally in Syria. In 2009 he started leading the disaster risk management portfolio with UNDP as a Project Manager. Fadi has over 20 years of experience in the fields of disaster risk reduction, disaster risk management, climate change, development, city resilience, and construction. Before joining the UN, Fadi worked in the private sector in different portfolios from marketing to sales and finally branch manager.

Fadi is a Syrian national, holding a Master’s degree in international business management and a bachelor degree in business administration.
