He has a PhD in political science from the University of Southern California, USA on Comparative Politics and Economic Development.
Before joining UNDP, worked between 1989 and 2004 as a professor of political science at the American University of Beirut.
Has been working with UNDP in the field of governance for the past 19 years in Lebanon and the Arab region.
He was the Deputy Resident Representative for Program in Yemen in 2018-2019, where He managed the country office Programme providing policy and strategic programmatic advice.
In addition to Programme Management, he has expertise in Elections, parliamentary development, institutional capacity development, governance reforms, local governance, political parties and inclusive participation.
He is the author of 3 books and more than 30 articles on Arab Politics, democratization, elections and governance.
