Bio
Charis Reid is the Social Protection Officer for the International Labour Organization (ILO) in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT). Charis works across a broad portfolio to support the establishment of a comprehensive Palestinian social protection system. Charis is Project Manager of the project, “Strengthening nexus coherence and responsiveness in the Palestinian social protection sector”. In this role, she engages with a wide range of humanitarian, development and Ministry stakeholders to work towards strengthened coherence, alignment and synergies in social assistance programming.
Charis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (1st class) and a Master’s degree in Development studies from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex (Distinction). Before joining the ILO, Charis led social protection and governance reform projects globally, including Bangladesh, Liberia and the Solomon Islands.
