I am a Jordanian national, born in 1962, holds a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery and specialized in occupational health. Currently working for the ILO, Regional Office for Arab States, as the regional advisor on labour inspection and occupational safety and health. Between 2013 and 2016, I was the ILO advisor on labour inspection and occupational safety and health for South Asia, based in New Delhi, India. Prior to joining the ILO, I was the Director of the Labour Inspection and Occupational Safety and Health Directorate, Ministry of Labour, Jordan. During the last 15 years, conducted several studies and developed national reports on labour inspection and occupational safety and health, and contributed to the development and implementation of relevant policies and reform plans, for many countries in both regions, Arab States and South Asia.
