Bio
I am a professional Architect with a Master’s degree and 20 years of experience in multi-million-dollar programme management in conflict and post-conflict contexts, including project development and coordination, rehabilitation and restoration, urban recovery, infrastructure and public services, emergency response, and transitional settlement and upgrading informal settlements in the private and humanitarian sectors in North America, the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. I have extensive experience in communicating complex technical issues in politically and culturally sensitive contexts, including analyzing stakeholder concerns and articulating them in reports to implementing community outreach initiatives, resource mobilization, stakeholder coordination and engagement, developing concept notes and project proposals, implementing sustainable and climate resilience programmes, conducting comprehensive needs assessments in liaison with internal and external partners, and building partnerships with national and international NGOs and other UN agencies. Living and working in geographically and culturally diverse places has enhanced my ability to function professionally and smoothly in different environments and cultures.
Working with UN-Habitat, UNICEF, UNHCR, ICRC and Canadian Red Cross, I have developed my communications, negotiation, and advocacy skills and used them with a wide range of interlocutors, including National and Local Authorities, Media, and International Donors. In addition, I have expanded my knowledge of Environmental Issues, Climate Change, Gender and Housing, Land and Property Rights (HLP) in emergency and post-conflict contexts. I have demonstrated team leadership and a strong commitment to team capacity building while managing multinational teams of over 30 staff.
