Bio
Diana Garde, the Head of the Regional Humanitarian Hub for Syria and the Arab States, is a Registered Nurse, Certified Nurse Midwife and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. She has 18 years of experience in RMNCH in a public health context, including clinical care and supervision of women’s health, family planning, STI diagnostics and treatment, and care of survivors of sexual assault. She worked as clinic lead for the Ebola response in Sierra Leone, has been guest BSN faculty member for the midwifery program at Lira University in northern Uganda, and an SRH specialist for the humanitarian response in Bangladesh with both UNFPA and WHO. Ms. Garde has been with UNFPA as Senior Emergency Coordinator during the response to armed conflict in Ethiopia and Humanitarian Coordinator for the response to Super Typhoon Odette in the Philippines. Most recently, she was the SRHiE Specialist at EECARO supporting the Ukraine response.
