I am UNWOMEN Regional Advisor on Governance and Women’s political participation in West and Central Africa region (WCARO). My work involves supporting legislative reforms, capacity development, programme implementation, project formulation and resource mobilization.
Previously, I worked as technical advisor/specialist in MENA region for several international organizations such as UNDP, International IDEA, Westminster Foundation and NDI. Her areas of expertise include parliamentary development, Political parties, Elections and Women’s participation in
As part of my previous assignments in 2012-2013 and in the Arab region I played a role in Tunisia’s constitutional process as I designed and implemented a national dialogue on a Draft Constitution with successful and intensive political meetings throughout the country. The dialogue impacted positively the constitutional process and contributed to the finalization of the Constitution owing also to a compromise approach adopted by the Tunisian stakeholders.
I also played a role in the transition of Libya during 2012 and I provided technical support in ensuring peaceful transition between the National transitional Council and the elected assembly (GNC).
I hold BA in Journalism from the University of Algiers and a master’s degree from the University of Malta in Human rights and democratization.
My command of French, English and Arabic has been an asset in my current and previous assignments and should be so in taking on new challenging responsibilities.
