Bio
With over 10 years of international experience working and managing multidisciplinary teams, I have developed a solid background in sustainable energy, renewable energy policies, strategy development financing and technology.
As an Economic Affairs Officer at the United Nations, I cover matters relating to clean energy, extractive industries, technology and sustainable development. I have the privilege to interact and work with talented and likeminded individuals, from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, to drive effective policies, through various research and analytical activities, workshops and participation in public forums.
Previously I served as Senior Economist at APICORP where I was responsible for the implementation of the strategy for the newly formed Energy unit and led the work on the company’s monthly commentary as well as its Annual Energy Investment Outlook. Prior to that, I worked at the UK’s department of Energy and climate change (now BEIS), rotating between energy efficiency, industrial heat strategy, power and international and domestic oil and gas markets.
My Practical experience is backed by a bachelors degree in Economics and a masters in Development Economics as well as certification in Agile Project Management. I am regularly invited as a keynote speaker and panellist at global forums and conferences to discuss critical challenges pertaining to the Middle East and North Africa, with my research cited periodically in major media outlets including the Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Reuters, Al-Arabiya and CNBC.
