Bio
I have more than 20 years of experience in international trade and development issues, private sector development, trade facilitation and logistics, programme and project design and management, banking and business development. My work duties ranged from research, analysis, policy formulation, technical assistance and advisory services to execution of policies and implementation of projects.
I have good knowledge of developing countries’ trade integration opportunities and challenges with practical experience in the delivery of trade related technical assistance targeting the enhancement of competitiveness and participation in regional and global trade.
I have led and participated in the formulation and implementation of various programmes and projects funded externally addressing mainly trade development, value chain development ( a multi-million dollar project targeting honey value chain with focus on women), logistics and trade integration at regional and global levels. I have also led and contributed to various research and publications addressing different issues including connectivity to GVCs in the Arab region, sustainable transport, Trade Facilitation and Paperless Trade Implementation, Trade logistics in the Arab region, Arab economic integration, among others. I have also led the organization of various events, including IGMs, for officials and experts on issues pertaining to enhanced trade and logistics and WTO related issues.
I have also served for years as the gender focal point in my division to ensure that the integration of gender dimension in all works and projects is properly considered.
Throughout my career, I have been able to build and maintain strong networks with key stakeholders and establish strong partnerships for funding and joint delivery of technical assistance to beneficiaries from both government and private sector entities by creating and maintaining shared visions and implementation strategies to ensure maximum outcomes.
Additionally, I am client oriented , have good management and leadership skills and good communication skills.
