Bio
I have more than five years of progressively responsible experience in economic research and analysis, policy formulation, application of economic principles in development programmes and related areas. I am currently an Economic Affairs Officer working in the water and economics nexus for the 20 UN Member states to ESCWA. Previously, I was a researcher at Harvard University looking at the nexus between health, the economy, and the environment. I previously worked as an economist at the UN RCO in the KSA from June 2020 to February 2022, collecting, evaluating, interpreting, analyzing statistics and socio-economic information primarily related to global indices ranking the KSA, creating an SDG forecasting model using a nearest neighbor matching method. During which I was a major author and architect for the KSA's Common Country Analysis and Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. Prior to that, most of my research has been in an academic setting in various economics departments.
I hold a master’s degree in Economics, with a concentration in Applied Econometrics. I also hold bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics, Finance, and Entrepreneurship. In addition to those degrees, I completed the first two and a half years of a Ph.D. program in Economics before withdrawing.
