Bio
Summary: International Social Protection and Public Health expert with more than 18 years of work experience in Europe, Southern-Africa, South East Asia, and Middle-East & North-Africa. Key qualifications relate to design, implementation, and organizational development of social protection policies and programmes. Previous work experiences include bilateral (BMZ/GIZ), multilateral (ILO, ESCWA) and IFIs (ADB, WB), at HQ and field operations.
In detail: I started my career in as a social policy advisor for Germany's Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Subsequently, I became a team leader for social assistance TC within Germany's social protection programme for Indonesia (GIZ). in 2016 I joint the WB's Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice to - amongst others - support the development of social protection assessment tools as part of the global Inter-Agency Social Protection Assessment (ISPA) Initiative. During this time I also provided technical support to the WB's social assistance programmes for Indonesia (e.g. conducting a comprehensive quantitative an qualitative work-load analysis of Indonesia's social assistance case managers local levels) and Kenya (developing and testing financial inclusion training materials for cash transfer beneficiaries). Thereafter, I became the team leader for the Asian Development Bank's Social Assistance component on adapting Indonesia's conditional cash transfer programme to remote and fragile regions in the eastern part of the country. Additionally, I provided technical and managerial support on behalf of the ILO for the UN Joint Programme on "Leaving No One Behind. Establishing the Basis for Social Protection Floors in Lao PDR" (e.g. drafting an implementation roadmap for the national social protection strategy, developing a related M&E framework and drafting the annual SDG Fund Project progress report etc.). My technical interests range from SP strategy development to SP financing as well as on the inter-play of design, delivery mechanisms and organizational set-up of non-contributory SP programmes.
