Detains a Ph.D. in Applied Statistics and Environmental Sciences from McGill University, Canada. a M. Sc. in Ecology from Université de Montréal, Canada.
Areas of expertise cover economic statistics, and environment and energy statistics, national accounts, environmental-economic accounting, sustainable development indicators, data management and analysis.
Leading the work programme on economic and environment statistics in ESCWA since 2012, developing projects, providing technical assistance and capacity building to member countries in strengthening and modernizing their statistical systems, implementing international statistical standards, and monitoring the progress in the implementation of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development.
Worked in academia and research in environmental sciences and applied statistics, from 1991 until 2004, in several universities and colleges in Canada. Led Statikron Consulting, from 1997 to 2004 on statistical analysis and environmental impact assessment for the Canadian Government and research and private institutions.
Member of the London Group and the United Nations Committee on Environmental Economic Accounting and the Oslo Group on Energy Statistics, and the Environmetrics Society.
