Economic Affairs Officer in ESCWA, specialized in the economics of food security, agriculture & the environment.
Over 6 years of experience in research and development roles in international organizations, NGOs, and the public sector. Passionate about the use of data to improve public policies and development programs.
Previous to ESCWA, Pilar Ouro worked for almost 3 years at the World Bank in Nairobi, contributing to the Impact Evaluation of World Bank-funded agricultural projects in Kenya, mainly related to the use of technologies to increase agricultural productivity and climate change adaptation. In previous roles, she also worked for Innovations for Poverty Action in Panama, the International Labor Organization, or the Embassy of Spain in Vietnam.
Pilar Ouro studies International Business Economics in the University Pompeu Fabra and holds a Masters degree in International Trade by the University Menendez Pelayo.
